Living Más

Taco Bell just announced a ton of new menu items the fast-food chain is unveiling in 2024, and we're salivating. It all happened recently during a Steve Jobs-esque presentation called Live Más Live in Las Vegas, complete with suspense, celebrities, live music, silly awards, and all the drool-inducing "sexy food footage" of nacho cheese sauce you can handle.

Here's every new item that you can expect to find at your local Taco Bell sometime in 2024, and everything we know about them — usually, that's not much. Taco Bell is such a tease.

1. Cheesy Chicken Crispanada

This one is not much of a mystery, since it's being released in mid-February, only about a week after the Taco Bell event. (Plus, it was tested in at least one market in Tennessee last year.)

It's a fried empanada-like pie that's filled with shredded chicken cooked with tomato, onion, and garlic. Monterey jack cheese, cheddar, and mozzarella ensure that it's about as cheesy as possible.

2. Crispy Chicken Nuggets

Nuggie fans, rejoice! Crispy chicken nuggets are set to appear sometime at Taco Bell in 2024. Like the Crispanada, they were tested at a few locations late last year, so we know a little bit about them.

They're made with all white meat chicken which is marinated in jalapeno buttermilk, then breaded in a tortilla chip coating and deep fried. They'll come with two dipping sauce options: Bell sauce with tomatoes, chiles, onions, and garlic, or hot and sweet jalapeno honey mustard.

3. Cheesy Street Chalupas

These new tacos are called Street Chalupas because they're mini size and come two to an order. They feature a Quesalupa-style shell that's made with pepper jack and mozzarella cheese sandwiched between flatbread and a tortilla.

That whole shell creation get fried crispy, then filled with either shredded chicken or grilled steak. There's also onions and cilantro, plus a requisite "flavorful sauce". Could you be any more vague, TB?

4. Mountain Dew Baja Blast Gelato

Happy 20th anniversary (apparently), Baja Blast! To mark the occasion, Taco Bell is going to be releasing gelato with the unmistakable lime flavor and bright aqua color. During the presentation, it's teased that it'll be released "at the end of the summer."

And if you think this means that Taco Bell is getting ice cream machines, don't get your hopes up. That would be a massive expense and undertaking for the chain, and all the promo photos show pre-portioned cups.

5. Cheesy Enchilada Dipping Taco

Inspired last year's limited time Dipping Tacos (which were themselves inspired by birria tacos), in 2024 we're going to get Cheesy Enchilada Dipping Tacos. There's not much information on these yet, but it's clear from the presentation they're going to be cheesy chicken or steak tacos with enchilada or nacho cheese dipping sauces.

6. Cantina Chicken Menu

Coming in March 2024 is a new Cantina Chicken lineup of items. But really, the most exciting thing about it is that it comes with a brand new sauce packet: Avocado Verde Salsa. We're totally here for it.

Otherwise, there's five new items in the lineup, all with shredded chicken, and pico de gallo and shredded red cabbage toppings. They include a burrito, soft and crispy tacos, quesadilla, and a bowl.

7. Dulce de Leche Cinnabon Delights

Breakfast Cinnabon Delights are getting an upgrade this year. They're already filled with icing, but it looks like they'll be filled with dulce de leche for a caramel twist.

8. Cheez-It Crunchwrap

Taco Bell has been experimenting with Cheez-Its lately, and this Crunchwrap was the "number one test [item] in 2022." So it's no surprise that it'll be released nationwide this summer.

Instead of a tostada shell, it's got a giant Cheez-It cracker — 16 times larger than the ones in the box — inside. It's got its trademark orange hue and presumably its distinct toasted cheese flavor, as well. Otherwise, everything else is just like a normal Crunchwrap, with beef, nacho cheese, lettuce, tomato, and sour cream.

9. Tajin Lineup

Tajin is a popular Mexican spice mix of chiles, lime, and salt that people sprinkle on everything from fresh fruit to corn on the cob. Taco Bell is going to incorporate the seasoning into three new menu items its testing later this year: crunchy tacos, "Tajin Twists," and what sounds like the best one by far, a Tajin Strawberry Freeze.

Ice Cream Taco, Horchata Cold Brew

There's two other collaborations that Taco Bell announced that sound fantastic, but they were just huge teases — they probably won't ever be available at Taco Bell locations.

The first is a Horchata Cold Brew Latte by Beekeeper Coffee. Since the cinnamon- and vanilla-flavored cold brew is canned, it's possible it'll be sold at Taco Bells at some point, but you'd probably be better off looking for it in grocery stores.

The second is an ice cream taco that would fill the void left in people's hearts from the death of the Choco Taco. It's a collaboration with Salt & Straw, a Portland ice cream company, and it sounds fabulous. There's a waffle cone shell coated with chocolate, cinnamon ancho ice cream, and even sauces and dips for it. But it'll only be available at Salt & Straw locations. Thanks a lot, Taco Bell.
