New Fast Food Items To Try

Fast food restaurants are always innovating — and competing — and that means there's always something new to try. McDonald's, Starbucks, Chick-Fil-A, Taco Bell, Subway, and other big chains introduce limited-time offerings regularly to entice customers to keep coming back. Even Chipotle, which rarely changes its menu, is introducing a new protein that has tongues wagging and taste buds at the ready. Here's what's new this month in the fast food world.

Prices and availability are subject to change and may vary by location.

Chipotle: Smoked Beef Brisket

Chipotle is adding beef brisket to its menu for a limited time, and people are excited about this one. The beef brisket is smoked, then charred on the grill with Mexican spices like roasted jalapenos and chipotles. Finally, it gets chopped and tossed with a smoky sauce that will give your burrito or bowl a brand new flavor profile. The brisket had previously been available in two test markets last year, and it seems it passed muster. It's available only for Chipotle Rewards Members for the first couple days, then everyone starting Sept. 23.

McDonald's: Glazed Pull-Apart Donut

McDonald's has added its first limited-time offering to the McCafe Bakery lineup. The glazed pull-apart donut is like seven donut holes fried together, making it easy to grab a piece and share. One reviewer noted that it's actually better as it sits and the donut absorbs the glaze, making it a great option if you're not sure when you can get around to eating breakfast.

Wendy's: Hot and Crispy Fries

Wendy's is making a big change this month: new fries. They have reformulated their skin-on fries so that they stay hot, crispy, and fresh longer. That means they'll be better suited to drive-thru, takeout, and delivery when they tend to sit in a bag for a while before being eaten. The most noticeable new features will be a rectangular — instead of square — cut and a very light coating to help keep them crisp.
