Charcuterie Alert

Ordering charcuterie at a restaurant can be frustrating. Restaurants charge a lot for the appetizer while often skimping on expensive cuts of cheeses and meats — and, let's be real, three or four slices of prosciutto isn't going to cut it. That's where Trader Joe's comes in. With these no-frill ingredients from the popular grocery store, you'll be able to build a Trader Joe's charcuterie board in the comfort of your own home, whether you're having guests over or making an elaborate girl dinner.

Prices and availability are subject to change.

4. Unexpected Cheddar Cheese

$4 for 7 ounces

Unexpected, indeed. Though TJ's version may look like a regular sharp cheddar, it stands out for having a slightly crumbly texture and salty aftertaste reminiscent of an aged Parmesan. $9 for 9 ounces

Instead of buying multiple packages of different meat, opt for an all-in-one approach. Each is dried for more than 60 days and seasoned with condiments such as sea salt, sugar, cayenne pepper, paprika, and garlic. Scatter them around your board and supplement them with various cheeses and crackers.

15. Organic Dried & Pitted Deglet Noor Dates

$2.99 for 8 ounces

Dried fruit is always an excellent addition to any charcuterie board, and these dried and pitted dates are no exception. Deglet Noor dates aren't as sweet as some other varieties, meaning they won't overpower other items on the board. Pair them with goat cheese, blue cheese, or prosciutto, along with nuts and other dried fruit like mango and apricots.

16. Brut Rosé Sparkling Wine

$7 for 750 ml bottle

We can't talk about a Trader Joe's charcuterie board without talking about Trader Joe's wine. While you can pair red or white wines with charcuterie spreads, this sparkling rosé from France is effervescent, refreshing, and light — making it an ideal pairing to counteract the heaviness of meats and richness of cheeses. At this price, it's also a great deal.
