Where To Score Free Fries for National French Fry Day

If french fries are your favorite food, then National French Fry Day might be your new favorite holiday. Last year, fast-food chain Checkers and Rally's successfully campaigned to move the holiday from July 13 to the second Friday in July, guaranteeing that it would always fall on a Friday (or a FRYday, to those who observe). While some chains still abide by the July 13 date, there are plenty of opportunities to score free fries on Thursday, Friday, and beyond. Here are nine places that are offering deals on mouthwatering crispy carbs this week. 

Mickey D's is giving away free fries of any size on Thursday via the McDonald's app. There's no other purchase necessary, so except for the app data you're giving them, you're not on the hook for anything else in order to get your free fries.

By the way, when you join MyMcDonald’s Rewards, you also get a free large order of fries with $1 minimum purchase, and free medium fries every Friday. 

Wendy's will be giving out free fries of any size with any purchase made through it's app through Sunday. You can even switch things up and claim the offer for a free order of seasoned potatoes, which are essentially Wendy's breakfast fries. 

Just make sure to apply the offer when you're placing your mobile order, or scan it at the restaurant or drive-thru. (Note that the deal is limited to one order per person.)

Burger King is offering complimentary fries in any size with any purchase made through its app or on BK.com. The only caveat? You must sign up for its Royal Perks program to claim the deal. But don't worry, all you need is an email address to sign up.

At White Castle, you can buy one small fries and get one free at participating stores, but you have to show this online coupon to get it. Only one coupon is allowed per customer per visit, the deal does not extend to delivery orders, and it cannot be used in conjunction with other discounts or deals.

Hardee's is offering a special treat for its My Rewards members on Thursday. All members who make an eligible fry purchase (as part of a combo or a la carte) will receive an in-app offer for free small fries. The offer can be used with a minimum purchase of $1, and can be redeemed for the remainder of the year until Dec. 31, according to Hardee's.

The people at Checkers and Rally's believe that National French Fry Day should always fall on a Friday — Fryday, get it? So in observance of this year's festivities, the fast-food chain is treating all its Checker’s Reward App members to a free order of XL Fries Friday through Sunday. 

Checkers and Rally's is also prolonging the celebration for the entire month by offering fries of any size for $1, from July 24 through Aug. 6 at participating locations.

You'll be able to get free fries at Fatburger through Sunday. Get an order of fat or skinny fries free with any purchase in-store or online starting Thursday. Just make sure you mention the promotion if you're in store, or use code "FrenchFryDay23" online to redeem.

Sub shop Penn Station is known for its fresh-cut fries, and you can get a small order for free on Thursday with any sandwich purchase at participating locations. Use promo code "FRYDAY" to redeem online.
