Ballin' Burgers

Burgers have humble origins, but that doesn’t mean they’re incapable of scaling up. Way up. Shockingly priced burgers exist all over this country, from Florida to Las Vegas to Michigan. One of them even costs a whopping 20 grand.

Want to see some more excuses for rich people to spend their money? Take a look at four of the country’s most expensive burgers.

Mallie’s Sports Grill and Bar

1. 2,000 Pound Burger at Mallie’s Sports Grill and Bar

Southgate, Michigan

Price: $20,000

So, this burger is apparently 2,000 pounds. They’re going for Guinness on this one. It's unsurprising that this place also sells a more, uh, manageable $75 burger that weighs 10 pounds. My favorite part about this is that it says the $20,000 price tag is negotiable. What kinda wiggle room are we talking about here? I want to go in and offer them 20 bucks and see what they say. That would be quite the negotiation.

Drury Beer Garden

2. The Gold Standard at Drury Beer Garden

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Price:$700

Head to DBG in Philly for “The Gold Standard” burger: an A5 Wagyu patty with Wexford aged Irish cheddar cheese, black truffle, lobster flambéed in Remy Martin’s infamous Louis XIII cognac, a gold leaf, and, obviously, some caviar. Oh, and some fries with Manuka honey drizzled all over them. Oh, oh, and also a little side pony of more Louis XIII.

And then you eat it. And all that money is gone.

Serendipity3

3. Le Burger Extravagant at Serendipity 3

New York, New York

Price:$295

From the same group of humble folks that brought you the world's most expensive grilled cheese, take a gander at Le Burger Extravagant, a $300 burger. You know the drill: It's got Japanese Waygu, truffle butter, smoked salt, 18-month cheddar, shaved black truffles and a quail egg. But the real value? The diamond-covered toothpick.

McGuire’s Irish Pub

4. Grand Burger at McGuire’s Irish Pub

Destin and Pensacola, Florida

Price:$100

McGuire's Grand Burger costs $100 and is made from a filet mignon patty. It's also served with caviar, merlot sauce, and a bottle of imported Moët Impérial Champagne. Maybe splitting this with somebody might be worth it for the story.
