You’re Not Always What You Eat

It turns out that celebrities, despite the pressing need to remain in camera-ready shape, don’t eat healthily all the time. Like the rest of us, many of them have a weakness for fast food, whether or not they can get a deal on it. Here are the favorite fast food items of 20 celebrities.

Kim Kardashian: McDonald’s French Fries

Kim Kardashian has a lot of fast food indulgences, ranging from Chipotle to Taco Bell. But McDonald’s is a longtime favorite. According to People Magazine, though the reality TV star mostly sticks to a strict Atkins diet, when she does indulge in Mickey D’s she always gets a small order of fries.

Donald Trump: KFC Fried Chicken

It’s well known that former President Donald Trump likes fast food. He’s been photographed on his plane with a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken, and he reportedly likes to order two Big Macs, two Filet-O-Fish sandwiches, and a chocolate milkshake when getting a meal from McDonald’s. That’s not to say he hasn’t also ordered a side of controversy with his fast food: There was a media uproar when he had a buffet of McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Domino’s Pizza, and Burger King served to the Clemson Tigers after they won the College Football Playoff National Championship in 2019.

Kanye West: McDonald’s French Fries

Kanye West once tweeted that McDonald’s is his favorite restaurant, and he mentioned the Filet-O-Fish in a song collaboration with Jay-Z, “Ni--as in Paris.” But he seemed to reveal his true favorite item in a poem he wrote about how McDonald’s French fries make every other menu item jealous.

Jennifer Lawrence: McDonald’s Burger

At the 2013 Academy Awards, Jennifer Lawrence told MTV that she drove through McDonald’s on the way over to get a burger, though she regretted not getting fries. “You have to remind them of ketchup because they never include ketchup,” Lawrence said. “You have to ask for it.”

Shaquille O’Neal: Krispy Kreme Donuts

The former Laker told Sports Illustrated he could potentially eat a whole box of donuts in one sitting. “You can never eat just one or two,” O’Neal said. “You eat one or two, then it’s three or four, then five and six, then seven, eight, and then you start to feel it but there’s only four left. So you’re like, ‘you know what, might as well polish these off.’” O’Neal has even made money off of his fast-food fandom. He's owned a Krispy Kreme store, an Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, and has his own Big Chicken franchise.

Chrissy Tiegen: Shake Shack Burger

Chrissy Tiegen told Refinery 29 that Shake Shack ranks higher than In-N-Out for her, but listed many fast food obsessions. She has also Instagrammed about Taco Bell and told Delish she loves the Doritos Loco Taco.

Anthony Bourdain: In-N-Out Burger

The late chef and television host Anthony Bourdain described the majesty of In-N-Out Burger with the eloquence he described fancy cuisine on all of his shows. “Bun selection [is] very important,” Bourdin said to Eater. “This cheese-like substance is just perfect. Notice, it’s two thin patties together. Maximum surface area ... It’s brilliant.”

Beyonce: In-N-Out Burger

A lot of celebrities love In-N-Out Burger, but leave it to Beyonce to pair a burger with champagne. Unfortunately, there’s no secret menu item for this at In-N-Out Burger.

Anna Kendrick: Taco Bell Doritos Taco

Anna Kendrick has been a Doritos Taco fan since 2012 when she tweeted about her first one. Kendrick confirmed Taco Bell is not paying her for her public adoration. “No, that would be great,” Kendrick said on the talk show “Conan.” “I don’t need more incentive to eat Taco Bell. But it’s so good. I need help. This is my cry for help.”

Gordon Ramsey: In-N-Out Burger

The “Kitchen Nightmares” and “Hell’s Kitchen” host also indulged in In-N-Out Burger. He just makes sure he’s earned them. “Once I’ve trained and... I’ve come off a big swim or cycle for four or five hours, I will literally go to a drive-thru In-N-Out,” Ramsey told LiveSigning. “I’ll wind the window down and ask for a Double Double Animal Style and they recognize me and give me lots of extras. So I just stack them, jump in the backseat, and eat them.” Animal Style refers to the California burger chain’s secret menu code for cooking the meat with mustard in the patty.

Rihanna: Chefette Chicken Nuggets

The singer goes all the way to Barbados to indulge her fast food cravings. Chefette is the island’s answer to McDonald’s, and Rihanna has talked about the island chain glowingly in interviews. She even shared a photo of one of her chicken nugget meals with her Instagram fans.

Mindy Kaling: McDonald’s Shamrock Shake

Kaling is a McDonald’s fan, particularly the seasonal Shamrock Shake. She’s also tweeted about her adoration of the Filet-O-Fish and a McDonald’s sundae.

Though she was a spokeswoman for Carl’s Jr., in 2015 Lakshmi posted a glamorous photo of herself in an evening gown with an In-N-Out burger on Instagram. The caption? “Reunited and it feels so good.”

Drew Brees: Jimmy John’s No. 9 Italian Sub

Jimmy John’s subs have expanded to many locations, but when quarterback Drew Brees was with the San Diego Chargers, he missed his college sandwich joint. He opened a New Orleans franchise when he was with the Saints just so he could eat his favorite sandwiches again, saying it was a No. 9 Italian Night Club that inspired him.

Jeremy Lin: McDonald’s McChicken Sandwich

While playing for the Houston Rockets in 2013, Lin got a technical foul with a $2,000 penalty. He tweeted that he could have bought 2,000 McDonald’s McChickens or 4,000 Jack In the Box tacos with that money, revealing his fast food vices.
