Plant-based food has been generating plenty of buzz lately, with companies like Impossible Foods and Beyond Meat churning out what seems like a never-ending slate of options that make our favorite guilty pleasures a little less guilty. But Walmart is jumping into the plant-based game with a rather unexpected option: lingerie.

The mega retailer recently launched Kindly, a lingerie brand that features "a proprietary blend of recycled nylon, spandex, elastic and sugarcane to create revolutionary products." The star of the show: "the first-ever plant-based bra cup sourced from Brazilian sugarcane." The line will feature items made from 75% recycled materials, according to VegNews.

Kindly bras and underwear will be available in 3,300 Walmart stores as well as online. True to Walmart's reputation, pricing is reasonable: Bralettes are just under $12, while T-shirt bras go for close to $14. Multipacks of underwear range from around $11 to $20. Bra sizes go up to 40DD or 3XL, depending on the style, while underwear is available in sizes up to 3XL.

Sustainable clothing isn't new, but budget-friendly options remain fairly few and far between — mostly because they're manufactured by smaller retailers. For instance, Parade, a well-known brand of sustainable intimates, is one of the more moderately priced options out there, and its bralettes start around $28.
