Sadly, workers filling service-oriented jobs in fields like food preparation, childcare, and even emergency medicine — some of which are made high-risk by the coronavirus pandemic — are often the ones receiving the most meager paychecks. Cheapism examined data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics to find 25 jobs where workers are making far less than the average U.S. worker, $56,310 a year, despite their important duties.
