Historic Events So Ridiculous That They Sound Fake

This AskReddit thread-inspired piece takes a look at various events that popped up throughout history that involved such strange behavior and outright conflicts that at times it's truly hard to believe that they actually happened. 

For instance, there was a war of sorts that was kicked off over a bucket. Must've been a really nice bucket. Or how about the Great Canadian Maple Syrup Heist? That screams Netflix original series or movie potential, no? 

Either way, these can definitely serve as a solid reminder that human beings are pretty crazy sometimes. 

Okay, in all honesty, that's definitely a brilliant act of army tactics. The cows can't have been too stoked about the whole development though. 

Talk about an interesting back-and-forth. 

That must've been just a tad bit awkward.

Someone needs to get in a room with a script based on The Great Canadian Maple Syrup Heist and pitch that story to whoever of the Netflix execs is game to listen.
