Chick Picks

If, for some reason, you’ve been hit in the head and you don’t want nuggets for lunch on your trip to Chick-fil-A, you may be thinking about grabbing a sandwich. Thanks to three new sandwiches loaded up with pimento cheese, the chain has a whopping ten sandwiches for you to try, most with nearly indistinguishable differences.

Here's every single Chick-fil-A sandwich on the menu, ranked from best to worst.

Best: Spicy Deluxe Sandwich

Of all the filet options at Chick-fil-A, the spicy patty is my favorite. If I ever end up at Chick-fil-A through circumstances I would never have made happen myself, I usually order the standard Spicy Chicken Sandwich.

I’d never had the Deluxe before, but the lettuce and tomato bring a little bit of helpful flavor to a slightly underwhelming sandwich, and though after this slide you’ll hear me complain about fried chicken and cheese, the pepperjack is nice here.

2: Spicy Chicken Sandwich

I’m never going to be the one to scream Chick-fil-A’s praises because I generally find it to be way overrated, but there’s no doubt that it’s upper-tier fast-food chicken. The classic spicy sandwich comes with pickles, but you’ll definitely need to add a sauce. You already know which one it is.

3: Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich

Same deal here; this gets only half a point less because I prefer the seasoning in the spicy chicken filet.

Grilled Chicken Club

4: Grilled Chicken Club

As a first-timer to the grilled chicken world at Chick-fil-A, I’m pleasantly surprised. CFA’s grilled chicken patty isn’t nearly as dry as I expected, and in fact, I’d get this again if I’m not in the mood for something fried. My only qualm is that the cheese is not for me. Grilled chicken and yellow cheese have never been a combo that I love, and while the bacon on this sandwich is crunchy enough to get me to come back, I’d ditch the cheese next time.

5: Grilled Chicken Sandwich

This is the same deal as the club, but without bacon and cheese. Chick-fil-A’s bacon is surprisingly solid, and I’d choose the club over this one because of it.

Honey Pepper Pimento Sandwich with Grilled Filet

6: Honey Pepper Pimento Sandwich with Grilled Filet

The Honey Pepper Pimento Sandwich with Grilled Filet, as the restaurant appetizingly calls it, is far better than I expected. Most of the pimento sandwiches are. This one, however, is the only one I think I could actually finish. The grilled patty feels a lot easier to get through when it’s smothered in pimento cheese sauce than the fried patty.

7: Honey Pepper Pimento Sandwich with Spicy Filet

These things are decadent as all hell, so an entire fried patty sandwich might be difficult to get through. In fact, I really don’t think I could do it. The pimento cheese manages not to destroy all the crispiness of the sandwich, so this thing is really good for about four bites. Bite No. 5 might knock you out.

8: Honey Pepper Pimento Sandwich with Chick-fil-A Filet

There was an unfortunate incident in which the honey was also applied to the top of the bun here, so I was immediately mad at this sandwich from the start. Once I got over it, I had to admit that once again, these are not bad. Still too heavy to finish, but not bad.

9: Chick-fil-A Deluxe Sandwich

I can’t get past the big, unmelted slice of American cheese on this thing. That’s how this sandwich comes when you order it, and I really think they ought to reconsider. Stick with the classic sandwich.

Chick-fil-A Cool Wrap

10: Chick-fil-A Cool Wrap

Chick-fil-A's “cool” wrap is about 2% better than something you might find at the airport. Much like an old wrap from the place across from your departure gate, this thing comes completely dry in a weak tortilla with wilted lettuce. You’re served a side of avocado ranch in a squeeze pouch alongside it, which is interesting because I cannot think of a more difficult way to apply sauce to a wrap. This one is a mega-no-thank-you.
