Even if you don't own an Always Pan, chances are you've seen one. Between near-ubiquity on social media and being labeled a "kitchen magician" by Oprah herself, the admittedly handsome (and, yes, super-functional) pan is already in many kitchens all over America.
For those who don't have one yet, the issue might be the steep price tag — Our Place sells the pan for $145. But good news for those who've been holding out: Grocery chain Aldi will start selling an Always Pan knockoff on Jan. 19 and, at $25, it's a fraction of the price of the original.
The retailer is naming its version the Crofton Awesome Pan. Like the pricier version, this one is nonstick, nontoxic, and compatible with multiple cooktops, including electric, gas, glass ceramic, induction, and halogen. It's also just a little bit larger, at 10.25 inches in diameter (as opposed to the Always Pan's 10 inches). It will be available in dusty blue, matte black, and beige.
Buyers, however, will have to be quick to snag one. They will be available only in-store at Aldi, and only for a limited time.
Unlike the Always Pan, the Crofton Awesome Pan won't come with all the extra accessories, celeb endorsements, or thousands of 5-star reviews that pretty much guarantee its quality. For those, you'll still have to visit Our Place to buy the real deal.
