Wendy's Frosty Is Getting Fancy. Here's Every New Flavor

Frosty Fun

Wendy’s Frosty may be one of the best frozen fast-food treats. It’s better than a shake and tastier than boring old soft serve. 


Lately, the chain has been switching up its usual chocolate and vanilla Frosty flavors for options like Thin Mint and orange creamsicle. But news just dropped that Wendy’s is making huge changes to the Frosty for the first time ever. Here’s the scoop.

What’s Happening to the Frosty?

Wendy’s is giving the Frosty a fancy overhaul. Instead of switching out the vanilla Frosty for new flavors every few months, the chain is going to offer flavored sauces and add-ins instead. You’ll be able to choose between chocolate or vanilla Frostys, then whether you want a sauce or chunky addition. It’s very similar to McDonald’s McFlurry or Dairy Queen’s Blizzard.


Of course, the new items have to come with fancy new names. Frostys with dessert sauces are called Frosty Swirls, while the ones with mix-ins are called Frosty Fusions.

What Are the Frosty Swirls Flavors?

There are three Frosty Swirls flavors: strawberry, caramel, and brownie batter. Sure, strawberry sauce would be great in a vanilla Frosty, but imagine it in chocolate! Honestly, while vanilla is fine with all these sauces, they all sound like they’d be better in chocolate Frostys. Maybe that’s just our chocolate obsession talking, but you do you, boo.

What Are the Frosty Fusions Flavors?

Things get a little more interesting with Frosty Fusions. There are three official Frosty Fusions flavors:

  • Pop-Tarts Strawberry Frosty Fusion: strawberry sauce with chunks of strawberry flavored Pop-Tarts “Crunchy Poppers” pieces
  • Oreo Brownie Frosty Fusion:brownie batter sauce with Oreo pieces
  • Caramel Crunch Frosty Fusion: caramel sauce with crunchy toffee pieces

Those sound great, frankly, but it seems like the real fun starts when you start mixing and matching Frosty flavors, sauces, and add-ins. Chocolate Frosty, strawberry sauce, and Oreos? Vanilla Frosty, brownie batter sauce, and toffee bits? All three chunky things in a vanilla Frosty? Sign us up.

When Can I Get the New Frostys?

The Frosty Swirls are dropping April 15. (Maybe get it as a treat if you finish your taxes last minute?) If you have the Wendy’s mobile app, you’ll be able to order them earlier than everyone else, though, starting April 11.


If it’s the chunky mix-ins that you’re really after, for some reason they’re not launching until later. You’ll have to wait until May 12 for the Frosty Fusions to appear in Wendy’s locations. Until then, you’ll need to smash up your own Pop-Tart and mix it in yourself.
