This holiday season, skip the traditional peppermint-flavored candy canes and tease your taste buds with a flavor that will leave you tongue-tied. How about a shiitake mushroom-flavored candy cane? Kale, perhaps? Maybe bacon? Or how about ... a hot dog-flavored candy cane?
Yes, all of these are legit flavors, concocted by Seattle-based toy and novelty company Archie McPhee. Hot dog is their latest addition to their seasonal candy cane lineup; it was the winning suggestion in the company's annual contest to choose a new flavor. Also new for 2021: sardine-flavored candy canes.
Unfortunately, the hot dog candy canes have proven so popular that they're temporarily sold out. So are their bacon-flavored treats and a few others (you'll have to wait until 2022 for their pickle candy canes to return). But the kale flavor is still in stock.
