Veterans Day is Nov. 11, and restaurants and coffee shops around the country are saluting those who served with free coffee, meals, and other tasty items. Here are a few worth checking out if you've served our country in the military. And hoping you can get the freebie even if you haven't served? Most places will ask for some form of ID as proof of veteran status.

Free Coffee for Veterans

Here are some places offering free cups of Joe, or if you're inclined, a latte. No shame.

  • Biggby Coffee: Veterans and active-duty service members receive a free 16oz latte hot/iced/frozen with military ID.
  • Bruegger's Bagels: Veterans and active-duty military get a free hot or iced coffee (any size) with a purchase in-store.
  • Casey's General Stores:  Past and present service members get a free, any size coffee or fountain drink.
  • Einstein Bros. Bagels: Veterans and active-duty military get a free hot or iced coffee (any size) with a purchase in-store.
  • Kolache Factory: Veterans and active-duty military receive one free kolache (any kind) and one cup of freshly brewed Katz coffee (any size).
  • Peet's Coffee: Veterans get one free drip coffee or tea of any size.
  • Starbucks: A free tall (12-ounce) brewed coffee (hot or iced)is available for veterans, military service members, and military spouses.

Free Breakfast for Veterans

Want to grab a free morning meal? If you're a veteran, you can get that on November 11.

  • Another Broken Egg Cafe: Veterans and active-duty military get a free Patriot French Toast, topped with strawberries, blueberries and fresh whipped cream, and a house blend coffee.
  • Biscuit Belly: Veterans eat free with choice of Bacon Egg & Cheese, Sausage Egg & Cheese, or Chicken Biscuit Sandwich and a hot drip coffee or fountain drink.
  • Dennys: Veterans get a free Original Grand Slam.
  • Huddle House: Active and retired military get a free MVP Breakfast Platter.

  • Golden Corral : Golden Corral is hosting their Military Appreciation Night on November 11 from 5pm to close. This includes a free “thank you” meal when dining in.
  • Iron Hill Brewery and Restaurant: Veterans and active-duty service members get a complimentary burger or sandwich along with a non-alcoholic beverage.
  • In-N-Out Burger: Veterans, active-duty military, reserves and National Guard receive a complimentary meal, including any burger, fries, and beverage.

  • BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse: Veterans can dine in and enjoy a free Chocolate Chunk Pizookie with no minimum food purchase. In addition, veterans will receive a bounce back coupon for a free appetizer.
