Target Surge

Target is going big this summer, and not just on patio furniture and pool floats. The retailer is opening eight new stores across the country in July and August, with additional locations to follow before the end of the year.

Here is everything you need to know, including where the new stores will open.

What Is Happening?

Target is opening eight new stores in July and August as part of a larger effort to launch about 20 locations in 2025 and more than 300 in the next decade. The retail giant is pushing its “stores-as-hubs” model — each location serving as both a shopping destination and a logistics hub for services like Drive Up, Order Pickup, and same-day delivery.

According to Target, over 95% of its digital orders are fulfilled by stores, and 80% of the U.S. population lives within 10 miles of one.
