Tasty Blast From the Past

Nostalgia for Taco Bell's long discontinued items runs deep, and the chain has decided to capitalize on it this fall. Starting Oct. 31, 2024, the Bell is releasing a new (technically old?) Decades Menu that highlights one discontinued menu item from each decade between the 1960s and the 2000s. Four items are all going to be available through Dec. 18, with one special item that debuts on Nov. 21. Here's the blast-from-the-past Taco Bell Decades Items coming nationwide.

'60s: Tostada

The Tostada was one of the first six menu items at the very first Taco Bell ever, so if you got a taste of this item in the 1960s, you're an OG Bell head. It's got a crispy corn tostada shell topped with refried beans, red sauce, lettuce, and cheese for $2.19.

'70s: Green Sauce Burrito

Taco Bell says that this is one of the most popular DIY throwbacks, so they're making it official, at least for a little while. This burrito is filled with refried beans, onions, cheese, and a tomatillo-based green sauce for $2.49.

'90s: Gordita Supreme

The Gordita Supreme is one of those menu items that seems like it never went away, but it did in favor of the more complicated Cheesy Gordita Crunch. This Gordita Supreme is classic with a soft flatbread shell filled with beef, sour cream, lettuce, cheese, and tomatoes for $2.99.

'00s: Caramel Apple Empanada

And finally, the one we've all been waiting for: the Caramel Apple Empanada. The Bell knows that this is the one everyone really wants, so they're gatekeeping it by releasing it for a smaller window of time. The apple- and caramel-filled treat is only available starting Nov. 21, giving everyone something to be grateful for at Thanksgiving.

But Wait, There's More!

Naturally, Taco Bell wants to make more money off all this nostalgia, so there's also a big fat merch line ready to go. There are hoodies with the Taco Bell logo through the decades, but honestly we're kind of into the stainless steel cups. You can announce your Taco Bell love quietly, to your housemates, instead of trying to turn a fast food chain into a fashion statement.
