Cruel Summer

This was a summer that many of us won't soon forget, but not for the usual reasons of memory-making vacations, crowded backyard barbecues, trips to the pool, and the like. Many of those options were off-limits to us in a season marked by a pandemic. But — perhaps not surprisingly — Americans still found ways to enjoy these warmer-temperature months, just usually with masks on and a bit farther apart than normal.
