From cost of living adjustments to legislative plans to reach a certain wage by a particular year, half of the U.S. states raised their minimum wages in 2024. And while the highest minimum wage in the nation ($17.50) can be found in Washington D.C. (which is not its own state), there are plenty of other states with wages well above the federal minimum of $7.25 per hour.
