With more than 92,000 5-star reviews on Amazon alone, Revlon's One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer might well be the most-buzzed-about beauty tool on the web. The '70s-style hot brush — or bargain version of Dyson's $550 Airwrap Styler, depending on your perspective — allows users to straighten, volumize, or create "beach wave"-style curls using just one hand. It consistently tops the list of what our readers are buying, and it's the No. 1 item in Amazon's Beauty & Personal Care category, too.

If you've been waiting for Black Friday to score a deal on the device that several reviewers call "life-changing," here's what you need to know:

Regularly priced at $60, the Revlon One-Step (as it's known) is currently listed at $40 on Amazon, with an additional "coupon" offer of $10 off. The coupon brings the price down to $30, or half off the usual price. This is as low as the price dropped during Amazon Prime Day at both Amazon and Target, and probably as low as it will get during the coming Cyber Week.

The catch: Like many retailers, Amazon adjusts its prices and offers constantly during key sales periods, so the coupon offer may be intermittently available (we have seen it on and off today). And although you can place your order now, the hair dryer won't actually ship until Dec. 9.

If you don't happen to catch the coupon offer on Amazon, Bed Bath & Beyond has the One-Step marked down 40% to $36. While you can't apply the store's 20% off Black Friday promotion to this "special offer," Bed Bath & Beyond does price-match "major online retailers," so it may honor Amazon's $30 deal.

And if you're open to the potential risks of shopping at a lesser-known online store, Bella Stylish has the hot brush on sale for $22.

A note of caution: The hottest-selling hair tool in recent memory has predictably inspired a rash of knockoffs, many of which are sold at the same retailers and appear in search results for the Revlon version. If you specifically want the Revlon One-Step, be sure to check the listing name and details carefully, and be wary if you seem to have found a very low price.

Our sample search yielded results for nearly identical hot brushes on Walmart, but these were available from third-party sellers and manufactured by other brands. Similar copycat styles exist on Amazon and elsewhere. For reference, the authentic Revlon One-Step is priced at $42 at Walmart, Target, and Kohl's.

Of course, the very best price of all is free, and if you're feeling lucky, Revlon is currently hosting a giveaway of a red, limited-edition version of the One-Step on its Instagram account.
