If your dog has seemed lethargic lately and you've been giving it supplements, you may want to hold off on the next dose until you're sure the product isn't part of a Food and Drug Administration recall. Stratford Care USA has recalled Omega-3 supplements for elevated levels of vitamin A.

Though a necessary nutrient for dogs, too much vitamin A can cause toxicity. Symptoms can include general malaise, anorexia, nausea, peeling skin, weakness, tremors, convulsions, paralysis, and death. Stratford Care is recalling 62 brands of the product, some of which sell on Chewy and Amazon, after receiving a "serious adverse event" from one consumer after their dogs’ exhibited signs of vitamin A toxicity after consuming the supplement. No other incidents have been reported.

How to Know If Your Pet's Supplements Have Been Recalled

Does it come in a white plastic bottle of 60 soft gels with one of these lot numbers and dates printed on the bottom: “lot 31133 EXP 04/13/23” or “lot 30837 EXP 10/26/22”? And does the product have one of these private label brand names?
