How to Score Free Chicken Wings This Weekend at Chains Near You

Are chicken wings the quintessential American food? If not, they're certainly near the top of the list. You can get them at practically every sports bar and chain restaurant because we can't seem to get enough of that crispy fried chicken skin, spicy buffalo sauce, and cool, creamy dip. Americans love them so much that there's even a special day just to celebrate chicken wings, and it's coming up this weekend.

National Chicken Wing Day is July 29. This year, in 2023, that means it falls on a Saturday, so you have no excuse not to head out to your favorite chicken wing joints and celebrate with a dozen or three. Lots of chain restaurants have National Chicken Wing Day deals to help you observe the holiday for cheap, and we've rounded up some of the best that you should be able to find near you.

You can get free wings at Wingstop on Saturday, July 29, too. Just use code FREEWINGS when you order online or on the chain's app and you'll get five free wings added to your order. There's a dozen different sauces and seasonings to choose from — see which one we ranked first.

Free wings abound at chicken tender chain Zaxby's as well. If you buy 10 wings, you'll get another 10 for free if you're a member of its free rewards program and you order online or through the chain's app. If you add two orders of bone-in wings to your cart, one will be free when you checkout. The best part: This offer is good for two days, July 28 and 29.

Some Fatburger locations run a wings business called Buffalo's Express, and those stores will be giving away three free chicken wings with the purchase of any Fatburger meal. To get your free wings, just order online and use the code WINGMAN23. The deal will be available on July 29 as well as every Wednesday in August. 

If you can stand going to a breastaurant, Hooters has a great deal on July 29. If you buy 10 wings, you'll get another 10 for free. It's only available when you eat at the restaurant though, so don't try and order it online.

Weirdly, Italian fast food chain Fazoli's is getting in on the National Chicken Wing Day action. You can get five free boneless wings with any purchase, even if all you buy it a drink. The best part? The deal has already started, and goes through August 1.
