But just what is it that people buy? Walmart has indulged our curiosity by releasing a state-by-state list of best-selling items for 2018. From the mundane to the surprising, here are the products shoppers are snapping up.

Whether they're de-stressing with coloring books or stocking up for back to school, Alabamians love their crayons, Walmart says. Join them by nabbing the Crayola 152-Count Ultimate Crayon Collection, which includes all those covetable glitter and metallic colors.

Minnesota is one of a trio of states that place a high priority on their morning cup of joe. The best-selling Folgers option, a 30-ounce container of its classic roast, makes up to 240 6-ounce cups of coffee for less than the price of a couple of Starbucks drinks.

Crayola fever continues unabated in the South. Add a little sparkle to your crafts and coloring books with a 6-pack of Crayola Metallic FX Crayons. As always, they’re nontoxic, and they’ll particularly shine on dark or black construction paper.

The nation’s smallest state is also the final paper-towel-loving state on our list. Brawny Pick-A-Size paper towels are one of the most popular buys in Walmart’s extensive inventory. “I admit to trying new paper towels or sometimes 'improved' paper towels by other brands, not sure why I torture myself because I always, always come back to Brawny,” raves one devotee.

The Palmetto State is the sixth state to proclaim its adoration for Walmart’s Ozark Trail tumbler.
