No. 10: Boneless Wings

Boneless wings are a game-day favorite and one of the top 10 most popular takeout foods in the country,  and in the list of top dipping sauces ordered with takeout meals, Buffalo sauce came in No. 3. (Good old-fashioned ketchup was still the No. 1 sauce requested with takeout meals.)

No. 9: Chicken Tikka Masala

This Indian dish was one of three Asian foods to make the top 10 most popular takeout items. Among international or ethnic cuisines, the most trending type of food was Australian food. It jumped by 531 percent year over year,  followed by South African food (294 percent) and Cambodian (4 percent).

No. 8: Caesar Salad

There are some healthier most-ordered takeout meals, too, as this popular salad proves. But it turns out almost no one wants to order this salad for lunch or late night (orders placed after 10 p.m.), as it didn't even make the top five of those lists.

No. 7: Fried Chicken Sandwich

Fried chicken sandwiches are also American's third-favorite lunch order, and second-favorite late-night order. We wonder if it gets washed down with the No. 1 alcohol order, which is beer.

This beloved noodle dish was one of the most ordered dishes this year, but it didn't make the lists for lunch or late nights. That means it was ordered for a LOT of dinners.

No. 3: Cheese Pizza

Pizza, specifically cheese pizza, is just made for ordering as takeout. However, it came in fifth place for late-night orders, and third place for lunch orders.

Best of the Rest

Who's ordering all those late night meals? It's Boston, which came in first place for the highest percent of orders placed after 10 p.m. New York City may never sleep, but New Yorkers are up early to get bagels, their No. 1 breakfast order. Meanwhile, over in Los Angeles, they're ordering up Buffalo sauce over ketchup as their No. 1 condiment. And finally, the most-ordered dessert was tiramisu, which was ordered more than 44,000 times. Talk about a sweet ending to the year.
