It’s Baaaaack

After years of “bring back the Snack Wrap” petitions, social media pleas, and mild public unrest, McDonald’s finally gave in.

Next month, the fast-food giant is bringing back the discontinued fan-favorite — with a few changes.

Here's the scoop.

When Is It Coming Back?

“It’s back,” McDonald’s confirmed in a two-word statement, announcing the Snack Wrap’s return to U.S. menus on July 10, 2025. It’ll be a permanent menu item — “as long as you keep enjoying it,” according to the chain’s new Snack Wrap-themed website, SnackWrapFiles.com.

Why Is the Snack Wrap Coming Back?

McDonald’s says fans made the return happen. In a quite melodramatic post on X, the company wrote that customers had “commented under every post,” started petitions, and asked for it “in the drive-thru.” They added they’d made “486 decks on reasons why to bring back the Snack Wrap.”

Rumors of the return continued to swirl until last December, when McDonald's indicated that Snack Wraps would return sometime in 2025. The specific date was kept under wraps, so to speak.

What’s in the New Snack Wrap?

Sadly, the great news for Snack Wrap fans doesn’t come without a catch: the grilled chicken option from the original lineup didn’t make the cut.

The new version includes a McCrispy chicken strip (which was also recently added to the menu permanently), shredded lettuce, cheese, and your choice of ranch or spicy pepper sauce, wrapped in a flour tortilla.

It’ll be available a la carte or as part of a combo with two wraps, fries, and a drink.

Why Did It Leave in the First Place?

Snack Wraps were introduced in 2006 and had a good run through the 2010s. But by 2016, they were quietly pulled from most U.S. locations, partly due to low sales and employee complaints about how finicky they were to make.

A few holdout locations kept them until 2020, when the pandemic-era menu cuts took them out completely. Since then, they've lived on in internet folklore and the occasional Change.org petition (one of which hit nearly 19,000 signatures).
