Jack Daniel's and Coca-Cola are joining forces to bring an epiphany to the world of brand mashups: Jack and Coke in a can. As the peanut butter and jelly of the cocktail world, Jack and Coke is a well-loved combo that's been around since the early 20th century. The ready-to-drink version is set to launch first in Mexico by the end of the year.
Developed by the Coca-Cola Co. and the Brown Forman Corp., which owns the Jack Daniel's brand, the premixed cocktail will have about 5% alcohol by volume (depending on the market). A sugar-free variety is also in the works.
The drink isn't Coke's first foray into the market for alcoholic beverages — the brand has collaborated with Molson Coors Beverage Co. to introduce the Topo Chico Hard Seltzer and Simply Spiked drinks and is exploring an additional partnership with Constellation Brands to create Fresca-branded mixed cocktails.
