Last summer, Amazon announced that Prime members would receive a free year of Grubhub+. That means subscribers get free delivery from the popular food delivery app on orders over $12, without paying for the $10 monthly Grubhub subscription.

The Grubhub membership comes with other benefits, such as the option to donate to charity on each order (Grubhub matches the donation) and a rewards program. Grubhub refers to the rewards as points, but the system boils down to receiving $2 back for every $100 you spend.

If Amazon Prime members want to take advantage of those benefits, they’ll have to sign up on the e-commerce giant’s website.

Here’s how:

  1. Visit the Grubhub+ page on Amazon’s website.

  2. Sign into your Amazon account if you haven’t already.

  3. Once you’ve signed in, the site will redirect you to Grubhub.

  4. Subscribers who already have an account will log in; otherwise, you’ll create an account.

  5. Once you’ve logged in, you’ll be asked to share your Prime membership status with Grubhub.

  6. After agreeing to the above, you’ll have successfully activated free Grubhub+.

The partnership comes after Amazon took a 2% stake in Grubhub, which is part of the Dutch food delivery giant Just Eat Takeaway.com.

Like most food delivery apps, Grubhub charges a series of fees — service, delivery, etc. — on top of what you’re paying for food (not to mention tax and tip). A Cheapism analysis found that Grubhub is cheaper than DoorDash when it comes to orders $50 and up. That said, both apps use relatively opaque pricing models, so it’s hard to say whether Grubhub is always the better choice.
