Where To Order a Stress-Free Holiday Takeout Meal

Half of consumers plan to order restaurant takeout or delivery during the holidays, according to a recent survey. And why not? The holidays can be one of the busiest and most stressful times of the year, and ordering an already prepared meal means you can focus on what's really important: spending time with loved ones. Besides the options being offered by local restaurants, many regional and national chains have also put together ready-made holiday meals to make feasting easy.

Cracker Barrel's heat-and-serve meals are available for pickup from Dec. 21 to Dec. 28 and include three options:

• Prime rib family dinner: prime rib plus au jus and horseradish, mashed potatoes and gravy, choice of two sides, and sweet yeast rolls. Serves 4-6 for $125.
• Holiday ham feast: sugar-cured ham, cornbread dressing, gravy, cranberry relish, macaroni and cheese, choice of two sides, sweet yeast rolls, apple streusel pie, and pecan pie. Serves 8-10 for $160.
• Holiday ham family dinner: sugar-cured ham, cornbread dressing, gravy, cranberry relish, macaroni and cheese, choice of one side, and sweet yeast rolls. Serves 4-6 for $110.

Christmas meals from Boston Market are heat and serve and available for pickup from Dec. 17 through Jan. 1. Prices start at $100 for meals that serve si, and $140 for meals that serve 12. Main course options include whole roasted turkey, spiral sliced ham, and roasted boneless turkey breast. All meals come with appetizers, rolls, apple or pumpkin pie, and sides like mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, and vegetable stuffing.

Buca di Beppo specializes in family-style meals, so it's no surprise that its offering four options for holiday meals this year that serve 10 or 20 people with prices starting at $130. All come with salad and bread, plus one or two pastas, an entree like chicken marsala or eggplant parmigiana in the larger meals, and a dessert. Order online for pickup — even on Christmas Day.

If you feel like going all out this year, steakhouse Ruth's Chris has a celebration feast available now through Dec. 23 for $195. It serves four people and includes roasted beef tenderloin with horseradish cream, choice of salad, garlic mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, and personal cheesecakes. It's served hot and available 4-6 p.m. only. Other holiday sides are also available separately, hot or cold.

There are three holiday meal options at Dickey's Barbecue Pit this season available through Dec. 31:

• The Dinner Feast: spiral-cut ham, smoked turkey, or prime rib with cornbread dressing, gravy, and rolls. Serves 8-10 for $196-$400.
• The Complete Feast: spiral-cut ham, smoked turkey, or prime rib with cornbread dressing, gravy, baked potato casserole, green beans with bacon, and rolls. Serves 10-12 for $196-$400.
• Holiday Big Yellow Box: 4 pounds of sliced turkey, gravy, baked potato casserole, green beans, cornbread dressing, rolls, pickles, onions, and barbecue sauce. Serves 12 for $219.

• Classic Half Dozen Egg Sandwich Breakfast Box: two bacon and cheddar and turkey-sausage and cheddar sandwiches, one ham and Swiss sandwich, and one garden avocado sandwich.
• Signature Half Dozen Egg Sandwich Breakfast Box: two farmhouse sandwiches, and one each of turkey-sausage and cheddar, bacon and cheddar, all-nighter, and garden avocado sandwiches.
