'Six Feet Under' Cast Then & Now — Peter Krause & More

"Six Feet Under" premiered on June 3, 2001, and became a huge hit for HBO. The series ran for 5 seasons and won a number of awards, including nine Emmys and three Golden Globes. The show revolved around the Fisher family, who ran the Fisher & Sons Funeral Home in Los Angeles. Nate and David take over the funeral home after their father dies. 'Six Feet Under' came to an end in 2005 with a perfect series finale. Since then, the cast has gone on to star in other TV shows and movies.

Peter Krause played Nate Fisher, the eldest Fisher child. After "Six Feet Under," Peter went on to star as Adam Braverman on "Parenthood." The series ran for six seasons on NBC. Michael C. Hall

Michael C. Hall starred as David Fisher, the middle Fisher child. A year after "Six Feet Under" ended, Michael was cast as Dexter Morgan in the Showtime series "Dexter." The show ran for eight seasons and won a Golden Globe in 2010 for his performance. He will return for a "Dexter" revival, which is expected to premiere in 2021. In addition to '"Dexter," Michael also played JFK in an episode of "The Crown" in season 2.

Lauren Ambrose

Lauren Ambrose starred as rebellious Claire Fisher, the youngest Fisher child. After "Six Feet Under," Lauren made her Broadway debut in the revival of "Awake and Sing!" in 2006. She played Eliza Doolittle in the 2018 "My Fair Lady" revival, which earned her a Tony nomination. She currently stars in the Apple TV+ show "Servant."


Frances Conroy

Frances Conroy starred as Ruth Fisher, the matriarch of the Fisher family. Frances became widely known for her roles in the "American Horror Story" universe, starting in 2011. She has appeared in seven seasons of the show and will return for the upcoming eighth season, "American Horror Story: Double Feature." She also starred in the Oscar-winning film "Joker," playing Joker's mother.

Freddy Rodriguez

Freddy Rodriguez starred as Federico 'Rico' Diaz. Two years after "Six Feet Under" ended, Freddy was cast as Gio on "Ugly Betty." He also starred in the first two seasons of "The Night Shift." He became a series regular on the CBS drama "Bull" in 2016, playing Benny Colón. He revealed in May 2021 that he would not be returning for season 6.


Jeremy Sisto

Jeremy Sisto played Billy Chenowith, Brenda's younger brother, over five seasons. Since 2005, Jeremy has appeared in a number of television shows and movies. He voiced the role of King Runeard in the blockbuster Disney movie "Frozen II" in 2019. Jeremy starred on "Suburgatory" from 2011 to 2014. Since 2019, he has starred as Assistant Special Agent-in-Charge Jubal Valentine in the CBS series "FBI." The show will return for season 4.

Rachel Griffiths

Rachel Griffiths played Brenda Chenowith, Nate's on-again, off-again girlfriend. She won a Golden Globe for Best Actress in 2002. Rachel went on to star in another family drama "Brothers & Sisters" in 2006. She played Sarah over the show's 5 seasons. Rachel has also appeared in movies like "Step Up," "Hacksaw Ridge," and more. She recently starred as Gretchen Klein in the Amazon Prime Video series "The Wilds," which will return for season 2.


Mathew St. Patrick

Mathew St. Patrick played Keith Charles, David's on-again, off-again lover. After "Six Feet Under," Mathew's had roles on "Reunion," "Saving Grace," and "Sons of Anarchy."


Justina Machado

Justina Machado played Vanessa Diaz, Rico's wife. She went on to have notable roles on "Missing," "ER," "Private Practice," "Jane the Virgin," and more. She became widely known for her role as Penelope Alvarez in the critically-acclaimed series "One Day at A Time," which ran for 4 seasons. Justina was one of the celebrities cast on "Dancing With the Stars" for season 29. She came in fourth place. Her next role is in the Amazon pilot "The Horror of Dolores Roach."
