Elvis Presley, who has been known as the ‘King of Rock and Roll’, first broke out on the music scene in 1954. One of his first and biggest hits was “Heatbreak Hotel,” which was released on RCA Records in 1956. He went on to record a multitude of hit songs, both originals and covers, that made him the best-selling solo artist in history, including ‘Blue Suede Shoes,’ ‘Hound Dog,’ ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love,’ ‘Jailhouse Rock,’ and ‘Love Me Tender.’
In addition to his highly successful singing career, Elvis went on to act in numerous films that often coincided with music he released. Some of the most well known include ‘Jailhouse Rock,’ ‘Blue Hawaii’ and ‘Girls! Girls! Girls!’
Although he was romantically linked to multiple women throughout his lifetime, Elvis only married once, to Priscilla Presley (nee Priscilla Beaulieu) in 1967. They had one daughter, Lisa Marie, in 1968, before divorcing in 1973.
