Giving people yet another reason to hate social media stunts and the influencers behind them, TikTok star Katie Sigmond is facing charges for hitting a golf ball into the Grand Canyon.

According to a Facebook post, Sigmund posted a video of her stunt (which included her chucking a golf club into the canyon) to her TikTok page. Park officials were not amused.

Sigmund, who has 6.9 million followers on TikTok and 2.9 million on Instagram, has three pending misdemeanor counts related to littering, creating a hazardous condition, and throwing objects over the canyon rim. A citation was filed with the U.S. District Court in Flagstaff, Arizona, where the influencer has a mandatory court appearance at a later date. Each of the misdemeanor counts carry the potential of up to six months in jail and $1,000 in fines.
