An outbreak of Hepatitis A that has sickened five people may be linked to frozen organic strawberries sold at stores including Costco, Trader Joe's, and Aldi, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, which recently announced a recall of the products.

Everyone who got sick reported eating frozen organic strawberries that ultimately came from the same farms in Baja California, Mexico, in 2022. Those strawberries were sold to a number of retailers and sold under multiple brand names, leading to a large recall across many stores nationwide.

Currently, there are two companies issuing recalls on frozen organic strawberries: California Splendor and Scenic Fruit Company. A frozen tropical fruit blend sold at Trader Joe's nationwide is also recalled because it contains Scenic Fruit Company strawberries. Here's how to tell if the fruit in your freezer has been recalled.
