Election Day results tend to make voters either thrilled or miserable thanks to our two-party system. No matter which side you're on, Krispy Kreme is hoping to make your day a little brighter with a free sweet treat.

On Tuesday, Nov. 8, stop by your nearest Krispy Kreme and get an original glazed doughnut for free, no purchase required. Krispy Kreme will be handing hot and fresh doughnuts over the counter and through the drive-thru window to customers all day long.

Unlike some Election Day promos that might be going on in your area, you don't even need to show an "I voted" sticker or prove that you voted, since, you know, not every polling place even has those stickers or you may have voted from home. It really is just a free doughnut, no strings attached, for everyone.

"We’re happy to celebrate voters and our democracy by giving everyone a free Original Glazed doughnut on Election Day,” Dave Skena, global chief brand officer for Krispy Kreme, said in a news release. “So cast your vote and stop by; you deserve our sweet thanks.”

Krispy Kreme is known for its free doughnut promotions. In 2021, it gave out one — and then two — doughnuts to anyone showing proof of vaccination against COVID-19. By June, it had given away 1.5 million of them, and the promo lasted until the end of the year.

The company has also given out doughnuts to blood donors and discounted the cost of a dozen doughnuts by linking it to the price of a gallon of gas
