Ford Recalls More Than 272K Vehicles For Potential Battery Failure

Ford is in trouble, having issued a recall for 272,827 vehicles due to some serious battery problems. This comes just after Ford paid $165 million in federal penalties for delays in recalls.

The battery issue has affected about 270,000 Bronco Sport SUVs and Maverick pickup trucks. In particular, this recall includes the 2021-2023 Bronco Sport SUVs and 2022-2023 Maverick trucks.

These vehicles use a 12-volt battery, which, when defective, can cause the vehicle to lose power. This could cause a variety of nightmare issues for the driver, who at worst could crash and at best could get stuck in their vehicle.

Ford will fix your vehicle for free, so if your vehicle is affected, make an appointment with your local Ford dealer as soon as possible.

While this is a new recall, just last year Ford recalled more than 456,000 light SUVs and trucks over battery power loss concerns. Engine valves, batteries, and more have been an issue in Ford's recent past.
