Why Was the Recall Issued?

On December 27, 2024,Braga Fresh issued a voluntary recalladvisory for Marketside Broccoli Florets after routine sampling by Texas Health and Human Services found Listeria monocytogenes in a store-bought sample. The FDA escalated the classification onJanuary 27, 2025, to Class I, which means consumption can be deadly.

The recall applies to 12-ounce bags of Marketside Broccoli Florets, specifically:

  • Best if Used By: December 10, 2024
  • UPC Code: 6 81131 32884 5 (found on the back of the bag)
  • Lot Code: BFFG327A6 (listed on the front of the bag)

What Should You Do?

In case you have the recalled broccoli, you should throw it away immediately or return it to Walmart for a full refund. Contact a healthcare provider if you have already consumed it and experience symptoms.
