What Is Listeria, and What Are the Symptoms?

Listeria monocytogenes is a type of bacteria that can lead tolisteriosis, a serious infection. While healthy individuals might experience mild symptoms like headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea, the situation can be much more severe for vulnerable populations.

Young children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk, as listeriosis can lead to serious complications, including miscarriages or stillbirths in pregnant women.
