Faygo Firework

Fourth of July aside, Faygo's Firework flavor is the bomb (or rather, the bomb pop). But with Independence Day fast approaching, the drink is buzzing around TikTok and popping up more in stores and God bless America, because this might actually be Faygo's best flavor yet (sorry, Redpop, I still love you). Plus, a 24-ounce bottle of Faygo pop (yes, it's called "pop" where I'm from. "Soda" sayers, relax) only costs $1.49 at my local convenience store, and I can get an 8-pack of cans at the grocery store a few miles down the road for just $5.99.

What does Faygo Firework taste like?

Faygo Firework is supposed to emulate a red-white-and-blue bomb pop flavor. And despite TikTok user @bootlegfoodreview's opinion that he's had things that taste morelike a bomb pop than this Faygo, I would disagree and say this sucker tastes like the masterminds over in Detroit melted a bunch of bomb pops, poured in some snappy carbonation, and called it Faygo Firework. The flavor is spot on. It's also so light and refreshing, whereas other flavors, like orange or grape, can sometimes be overwhelmingly sweet to me. Where I will agree with this TikToker is that this is definitely one of the best flavors, and unfortunately, it's also one of the hardest ones to track down, too.

Is Faygo Firework rare?

Faygo Beverages is based in Detroit, Michigan, and distributes its drinks to several other states in the Midwestern, Mid-Atlantic, and Central Southern regions of the U.S., along with southern and western Canada. Basically, you can't find Faygo everywhere, and considering that Firework is one of its rarer flavors, you might have to hunt for it. Personally? I think it's worth it to have to do some searching. Maybe that's what makes the drink so refreshing.

Firework's punchy flavor also lends itself well to cocktails and punch. If you really want to lean into the bomb pop flavor, you can mix it with Smirnoff's Red, White, and Berry vodka. Because of its bursts of cherry flavor, Faygo Firework would also work in place of Sprite for a Dirty Shirley. Add some vodka and squeeze some fresh lime juice in that bad boy, toss a cherry and splash of grenadine in, and slurp 'er down. Doesn't get much more 'Merica than that, amirite?

(You could double down on the bomb pop flavor and try mixing Faygo Firework with Twisted Tea's Rocket Pop Hard Iced Tea, but we weren't super impressed by that)

My bigger kids (the ones who are allowed more sugar than my toddler monsters) love Firework too. For a Fourth of July punch, I'm planning to put red and blue sanding sugar on clear glasses and mix the pop with some grenadine and blue moon ice cream (another regional favorite flavor). Leaning into sugar buzzes in the name of patriotism.
