College in the U.S. can be expensive, and applying for college scholarships is no easy task. The process often requires some combination of lengthy essays, documentation of academic achievement, and recommendations from key people. But not all scholarship applications are quite so labor intensive. Here are more than two dozen easy scholarship applications for those searching for help paying for college.

Caleb Thornton Memorial Scholarship

Created to honor Caleb Tripp Thornton, a 21-year-old who passed away unexpectedly in January, this scholarship provides 10 awards of $2,600 each to students from a half-dozen Texas high schools. The only application requirements are a transcript and a minimum 3.0 GPA.

Cappex

Cappex Scholarships

If you have five minutes to complete a basic form that asks for your name, age, address, phone number, email address, GPA, and planned major, then you can apply for the Cappex Scholarship. The program provides $1,000 awards. Applicants must be currently enrolled in high school or college or planning to enroll in the next 12 months. The application deadline is September 30.

DoSomething.org Scholarships

DoSomething offers scholarships in exchange for community service. The site lists a variety of community service project opportunities tied to scholarships. For instance, those who complete an online voter registration drive and then upload a photo showing they've completed the project, will be eligible for a $5,000 scholarship. There are no GPA requirements and the scholarships are open to anyone between 13 and 25.

Taco Bell

Taco Bell's Live Mas Scholarship

The Live Mas Scholarship is designed to help innovators, creators, and dreamers (including current college students) with post-high school funding and opportunities to pursue unique passions, even those that don't fit into typical academic or athletic scholarship categories. Applying for the scholarship requires submitting a two-minute video about your passion — no essays, no test scores, and no right or wrong answers. Since 2015, $5.8 million in scholarships have been awarded to 590 students and Taco Bell employees. Scholarship awards range from $5,000 to $25,000.

Niche

Niche No Essay Scholarship

The $2,000 "No Essay" Scholarship is awarded based on a random drawing. One scholarship is awarded every month. The money can be used to cover tuition, housing, books, or any education-related expenses. Applicants can keep trying to win every single month if they wish.

Fundera College Scholarship

Designed to help young entrepreneurs with the rising cost of education, Fundera awards $2,000 every semester to the student with the best entry. The application merely involves liking and following Fundera on various social media platforms and recording a three-minute video that answers a question about strategically growing a business.

Fig Loans

Fig Loans Scholarship for Social Impact

Now in its second year, the scholarship program of Fig Tech Inc. is aimed at students who want to focus on social impact. The company will award two $1,000 scholarships, one in Texas and one in Missouri. Application merely requires a transcript, resume, and brief 400-word essay about how you would create a more inclusive world and use your education to help develop a longstanding solution.

Café Bustelo

Café Bustelo El Café Del Futuro Scholarship

Inspired by Café Bustelo founder Gregorio Bustelo's passion for reinvesting in the Latino community, this scholarship has already granted $180,000 to Hispanic students. The application only requires an essay (800 words or less) describing how your heritage, family, and community have impacted your desire to obtain a college degree and what you intend to accomplish with the degree. Ten scholarships worth $5,000 are awarded each year.

G2 Crowd

G2 Crowd Entrepreneurial Scholarship

G2 Crowd just announced a $60,000 college scholarship for students who exemplify an entrepreneurial spirit and mindset. The campaign will offer twelve $5,000 awards. Because the program is so new, there are few applicants. Requirements include having a 2.5 GPA, attending an accredited higher education school in the United States, and a 500-word essay. The deadline for the first scholarship window closes on October 19.

Unigo

Unigo $10K Scholarship

Imagine a historical figure is brought back to life. Describe who it is and what their favorite mobile app would be. The most creative answer stands to win $10,000 through Unigo's scholarship program. In addition to answering that question, the only requirements are that the applicants be 13 years of age or older, legal residents of the United States and currently enrolled or planning to enroll no later than fall 2024 in an accredited post-secondary institution of higher education.

Wallet Hacks $1,000 Financial Freedom Scholarship

The Wallet Hacks $1,000 Scholarship is a twice-annual (once in the fall and once in the spring) scholarship awarded to a full-time student in the United States or Canada. Applicants must submit an essay about financial freedom and what it means to them. The site awards one student with $1,000 paid directly to their school. All that's required to apply is an essay. The spring submission period will start on October 1 and run through January 14, 2019.

$5,000 Cost-Conscious Student Scholarship

The folks behind Promocodes.com are passionate about helping people save money, which is why they've started a scholarship program. One $5,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a student who demonstrates a keen financial sense and a thrifty mentality. All that's required to apply is a one-to-three-minute video (which can even be created on your smartphone). The video must answer the question: What have you done to save for your future? Entries must be received by October 15.

College Ave Student Loans

College Ave Student Loans Monthly Scholarship Sweepstakes

While College Ave Student Loans may be most well-known for helping prospective students borrow money to pay for education, the company also runs an ongoing monthly scholarship sweepstakes. All that's required to take part is completion of a short form on the company's website detailing your name, email address, phone number, and current school. One lucky winner is awarded $1,000 each month.

Register with VIP Voice, an online research community, and participate in at least two surveys for the company and you'll be eligible to apply for its $5,000 scholarship sweepstakes. The more surveys you take, the better your chances are to win.

Deals Scoop Scholarship

Created to make education more accessible, the Deals Scoop $500 scholarship only had nine applicants in 2018, according to the company, giving all who apply pretty decent odds of success. The scholarship is for any type of student, and can be used for any educational venture, including college, online classes, and any approved topic where the student is learning a valuable skill.

Dependable Homebuyers

Dependable Homebuyers Scholarship

While there is a 1,000-word essay requirement for the Dependable Homebuyers scholarship, there have been no applicants this year and advertising for the fund is limited, increasing the chances of being selected for those who do take a shot. The $500 scholarship is aimed at helping the most dedicated and outstanding students finance their college education. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and be a full-time student, but there's no restriction on majors.

AE Home Group

AE Home Group

The AE Home Group's scholarship receives few applicants each year. It requires an essay, but competition for the $500 award is quite low. The 1,000-word essay requires applicants to explain how they plan on investing in real estate to secure their financial future. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA and be a full-time student.

Avacare Medical Scholarship

Have you been significantly inspired by an act of kindness? Avacare's medical scholarship award is based on an applicant's ability to either write about that act of kindness, create a 1.5-minute video about it, or submit an image along with a brief description. There is no application form. Applicants simply need to send in their project and a high school or college transcript. The deadline for this year's submissions is December 15.

SquareFoot

SquareFoot Scholarship

SquareFoot's scholarships are aimed at students who are passionate about real estate, technology and entrepreneurship. Applicants must simply answer the question (in 1,000 words or less): How will technology change the commercial or residential real estate industry? Application is open to first, second, and third-year students attending an accredited higher education institution in the U.S. SquareFoot awards $3,000 to a first-place winner, $1500 to a second-place winner, and $500 to a third-place winner. Submission deadline is October 30.

Thanks to its status as a brand-new scholarship, there have been few applicants for the $1,000 being awarded by Young Marr & Associates. Open to law students with a GPA of 3.0, submissions require completing a legal scholarship application and a 650-word essay about what you hope to achieve by studying law.

Murse World Scholarship

Murse World has created what it calls a Pay it Forward annual scholarship opportunity for college students who are studying in any field within the medical or health world. The scholarship provides $1000 toward tuition. To have a shot at winning, applicants must answer just one question: How do you plan on making the world a better place through your future career? The answer can be just 500 words. There's no additional application to complete, but those pursuing the scholarship must have a 3.0 GPA.
