From Target and Walmart to Amazon, just about every major retailer has begun rolling out tantalizing deals on toys ahead of the holiday shopping season, and Dollar General is making its own moves to keep up. The chain — which somehow seems to have a store even in the remotest communities — is adding products from big-name toymakers like Barbie, Fisher-Price, and Lego to its shelves, with many options priced at about $10.

You may be dubious about doing your toy shopping at Dollar General if you ever faced the frustration of buying a $3 toy at a dollar store only to find it destroyed within minutes and your child upset. But with inflation hanging around like the party's last guest with nowhere else to be, shoppers are poised to spend more on gifts this holiday season, leaving many to search for discounts and the best deals possible. In an attempt to assert itself as a go-to spot for toy shopping, Dollar General isn't merely offering popular brands for kids of all ages at lower prices, it's holding a massive sales event to boot.
