Danby and Midea Window Air Conditioners

There were two different U-shaped window air conditioners recalled in June as part of a massive recall of 1.7 million units. Both were recalled for the same reason: There is not enough proper drainage, so water inside the units can pool and lead to mold growth.

The first brand is Midea, which were sold between June 2021 and May 2025. They were Costco item numbers 1572673, 1657921, 1677429, 1768985, 2677450, and 2677429.

The second brand is Danby, which were sold between June 10, 2021 and February 2022. Midea is also the supplier of this air conditioner. It was Costco item number 1498424.

Michelin and Bridgestone Tires

Two tires sold at Costco Tire Centers have been recalled because they fail to conform to Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 139, which has to do with tire endurance.

The first is Michelin brand Agilis CrossClimate C-Metric tires in size 185/60R15C. According to the recall letter sent by Costco, “chunks of tread rubber may detach from the shoulder block.”

The second is the Bridgestone brand Blizzak 6 tires in size 235/40R19. These tires “fully comply with performance requirements,” but they’re missing the Department of Transportation certification symbol on the sidewall and may therefore be used in inappropriate applications.

Anker Power Banks

There are two different Anker brand power banks sold at Costco that have been recalled recently due to their lithium-ion battery.

The first is the Anker Power Bank (10K, 22.5W) model A1257. The manufacturer identified a “potential issue involving lithium-ion battery cells from a single vendor,” and while the likelihood of malfunction is minimal, the company chose to recall the products.

The second is the Anker PowerCore 10000 power bank model A1263. It was sold between June 2016 and December 2022. These batteries may overheat, and so far, the company has received 19 reports or fires or explosions

What Should I Do If I Have a Recalled Product From Costco?

If you have any of these recalled items, the good news is that Costco’s return policy is generous and easy to use, so there should be no problem returning any of these items — especially if you indicate it’s part of a recall. Take the item to the service desk, where an employee can look up your purchase history and issue a refund, whether you still have a receipt or not.
