It's tough out there for car shoppers, and deals are few and far between. But if you're in the market for an Audi, Costco has a generous new incentive — for members only, of course.

From now through the end of February, Costco members can receive a $5,000 incentive to purchase or lease select 2021 Audis through the Costco Auto Program. That's the largest incentive ever offered for Audis through Costco Auto, and it can be stacked with manufacturer incentives for more savings.

The models eligible for the $5,000 incentive are the 2021 Audi A8, a full-size luxury sedan that was named Car and Driver's 2021 Editor's Choice; the S8, a souped-up version of the A8; and the A8 PHEV, a plug-in hybrid. The Audi A8 was the most requested premium sedan for Costco members in 2021, according to Costco Auto.

According to the latest Consumer Price Index, new cars cost nearly 12% more than they did a year ago, and used cars are up an even more shocking 37%. Industry experts have said that pandemic-related microchip shortages and factory closures are among the factors driving up prices, which are expected to remain high for at least the remainder of the year.
