McDonald’s To Release Chicken Big Mac, Which Is Exactly What It Sounds Like

The McDonald’s menu is home to many icons, but the Big Mac may be its most famous one. We all know the classic burger; it’s a tried-and-true combo that really works. 

Does it work if you swap in some fried chicken patties? That’s the question Mickey D is trying to answer. The Chicken Big Mac arrives on October 10 — here's everything you need to now.

This is truly the exact same sandwich as the classic. A traditional Big Mac has two beef patties, pickles, onions, shredded lettuce, and special sauce on a sesame seed bun, with an extra bun in the middle. For the Chicken Big Mac, all McDonald’s has done is swap the beef for two fried chicken patties. 

As the cost of beef rises, McDonald’s has looked into expanding its chicken menu, which is now “on par with beef sales,” according to CNN.  

The company also says it wants to reach a new audience. “With the introduction of the Chicken Big Mac, we’re excited to pay homage to one of our most iconic menu items, the Big Mac, and introduce it to a whole new generation of fans,” says Tariq Hassan

After a promotion in the United Kingdom for the Chicken Big Mac sold out in a quick 10 days, it was clear this was something people were into. The fast-food titan is now ready to test this out on the U.S. market in a major way (not for the first time, though, as it was tested in Miami in 2022). 

The Chicken Big Mac will be available on Oct. 10, with most locations expected to participate. This is a limited-time deal, so get ‘er while she’s hot.
