Chick-fil-A Just Launched a New Fried Chicken Sandwich

Chick-fil-A doesn't usually stray far from its simple core menu, so when there's a new sandwich, it's a big deal. A couple of years ago, there was the spicy pimento cheese and honey-topped sandwich, and it was glorious.

Now, the ever-popular chain just dropped a new twist on its classic sandwich, and this time it's got a new bun, new toppings, and even a new sauce. Here are all the deets on what's on Chick-fil-A's new fall menu, plus other new sandwiches the chain is testing.

Of course, the one new thing everyone wants is the sandwich. The Pretzel Cheddar Club was tested last spring in North Carolina, and it clearly made waves because now we can all get it.

It's got Chick-fil-A's signature fried chicken filet (or spicy, or grilled, your choice!) on a butter-toasted pretzel bun, along with applewood smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce, and tomato. Plus, you get a side of new creamy Dijon mustard sauce for dipping, which sounds like a great combo with bacon, cheese, and fried chicken.

You can get the Pretzel Cheddar Club sandwich right now at Chick-fil-A. It's a limited-time offering, so it's uncertain how long it'll last. If we had to guess, we'd say it'll be around for the fall, but that's it. It's available at restaurants nationwide.

Chick-fil-A always has new flavors of lemonade and Sunjoy, the chain's name for its iced tea and lemonade mix. But this time, the restaurant is adding its flavoring to soda as well for the first time.

Cherry berry drinks are made with a cherry, blueberry, and cranberry flavored syrup. You can get it mixed into Sprite for a carbonated Shirley Temple-like drink, or into lemonade, Sunjoy, or frosted lemonade, a slushy frozen version.

Did you know that Chick-fil-A offers bagged potato chips as a side? We didn't realize it either. Now there are two new varieties, though, and they're cut into waffles just like the chain's fries — only crispier, of course. There's an original flavor Waffle Potato Chips (boring!), but there's also a Chick-fil-A sauce-flavored variety, and we're totally here for that one.

Fast food chains usually test new items in a small area before releasing them nationwide, giving us a sneak peek at what might be coming to the menu in the future.

A couple of months ago, Chick-fil-A was testing two new sandwiches. The first was the Jalapeno Ranch Club, made with your choice of chicken filet, pepperjack cheese, caramelized onion-flavored bacon, lettuce, tomato, and pickled jalapenos all on a toasted buttermilk ranch bun (!!). It was being tested in Salt Lake City.

The second was the Creamy BBQ chicken sandwich, which was tested in Jacksonville. It had your choice of chicken filet topped with creamy barbecue slaw and sweet heat pickle chips.

Will either of these test sandwiches end up on the menu? We'll have to wait and see, but we're really hoping for that buttermilk ranch bun.
