Chick-fil-A is getting ready for spring by bringing back a saucy fan-favorite BBQ sandwich and adding a new menu item.
Here is everything you need to know.
Starting March 17, Chick-fil-A fans can sink their teeth into the returning Smokehouse BBQ Bacon Sandwich, the chain announced in a statement last week.
"As warmer weather approaches, our Guests are craving flavors that are reminiscent of longer, brighter days and time spent outside with family and friends,” said Allison Duncan, director of menu and packaging at Chick-fil-A.
Chick-fil-A first introduced the Smokehouse BBQ Bacon Sandwich in 2017 — a chicken filet topped with bacon coated in brown sugar and black pepper, Colby Jack cheese, lettuce, and BBQ sauce, all tucked into a toasted sweet yeast bun.
"Ten years ago, we created the Smokehouse BBQ Bacon Sandwich to highlight the delicious grilled flavors our guests know and love. We’re thrilled it’s making a comeback — this time elevated with even more delicious customizations for everyone to enjoy this spring,” says Chick-fil-A chef Christy Cook who first developed the sandwich.
For whatever reason, it disappeared from the rotating seasonal menu in 2022, much to the disappointment of many fans. This time, it's back with three options: Original, Spicy, or Grilled Chicken.
The returning chicken sandwich isn’t the only reason for Chick-fil-A fans to celebrate this spring — the chain is also introducing Pineapple Dragonfruit beverages in four variations, from a tart lemonade and a refreshing iced tea to a Sunjoy blend of both, plus a creamy Frosted Lemonade for those who like their drinks on the indulgent side.
Both the Smokehouse BBQ Bacon Sandwich and the Pineapple Dragonfruit drinks are making their grand entrance on March 17. But don't dawdle — they're available only for a limited time until June 7, to be exact or while supplies last. So, if your taste buds are tingling, you'd better hustle.
