A beach getaway doesn't have to cost a small fortune. There are plenty of hotels and resorts around the country and the globe for that matter where prices are $150 a night or less — if you know where to look and what time of year to visit. Here are some places to spend a few days watching the waves roll in and out without completely emptying your wallet. Famous for being a spring break getaway, Daytona Beach offers abundant sun and sand. Depending on the season, rates can drop as low as $109 a night at the 3½-star Plaza Resort & Spa. The resort features suites overlooking the Atlantic Ocean or the Halifax River. There are also three onsite dining venues, a full-service spa to pamper yourself, and a heated pool that's open year-round.

One of the top budget-friendly resorts recommended by TravelPirates, White Sands Negril is an intimate resort ideal for travelers in search of low-key, family-owned beachfront property. It's on world-famous Negril Beach and is within walking distance to nearby popular restaurants, bars, and water activities. Standard gardenside rooms are $60 to $88 per night while standard beachside rooms are just $65 to $95.

The chic, modern Manta Raya Hotel is on Costa Chica's nearly deserted Salchi Beach, the only white-sand beach in the region. At this boutique property with just seven rooms, guests can spend days disconnecting, hanging out poolside or at the beach. There's also horseback riding, fishing, and local plantations that are open for tours. Double rooms start at $85. But even king suites are budget friendly here, starting at $110 per night. The property's luxury suites are available for $135 per night.

The alluring capital of Baja California Sur, La Paz is a place to stroll along the seafront promenade while taking in the beach, parks, and artwork by Mexican and international artists. CostaBaja Resort & Spa is the first and only luxury hotel and spa in the city. Located about 15 minutes from downtown, the 115-room boutique hotel offers a variety of gourmet dining options and two pools, including a beach club. A nearby marina provides access to various sea sports and activities on the Sea of Cortez. Starting in late February, prices at CostaBaja Resort drop to about $124 per night. And from late March until November, prices are about $113 per night.

A Central American destination famous for being home to the Belize Barrier Reef and hundreds of low-lying islands called cayes, Belize is the ultimate beach and fun-in-the-sun getaway. The Colonial at Jaguar Reef offers comfortable, affordable rooms ranging from one-bedroom beachfront suites to seaview rooms. Guests can also take part in a variety of local activities from the hotel such as sport fishing, bioluminescence tours and cave explorations. Depending on when you visit and the room style you choose, rates at The Colonial can be found for less than $150. Summer rates (April 20 through Dec. 19) range from $129 to $149.

Negril, Jamaica


Finding an all-inclusive beach resort under $150 a night is a rare treat. Legends in Negril, however, offers a variety of pricing options including standard garden-view rooms that range throughout the year from $112 to $131 a night. Want to make it even cheaper? Opt to book without the all-inclusive features such as food and drinks, and rates drop to $51 to $83 a night. Located along a 7-mile white sand beach, the resort also offers two freshwater pools (one oceanside and one in the gardens) and a beachfront restaurant and bar.

A property once voted the No.1 bargain in Central America by TripAdvisor, Colinda Cabanas is perched on a quiet sandy beach on Caye Caulker's east side. This hotel, located at the edge of the world's second-largest reef, includes just 14 cabanas facing Belize's famous reef. Popular pastimes include listening to the surf, keeping your eyes peeled for the many migratory birds and reptiles, and stargazing. There's a private, 175-foot pier on the property. There's a variety of cabanas available at numerous price points starting for as little as $69 per night.

A resort known for its luxuriously bright Arabian architecture, Las Hadas offers 234 guest rooms featuring private terraces or balconies and ocean views. There's also an 18-hole championship golf course and four restaurants, including a piano bar with live music. To top off all of this luxury, Las Hadas includes a private beach. While rates vary by category and time of year, deluxe rooms with double beds can be found in March at $116 per night and for about $125 per night in October.

There are also two pools, several dining options, and a boardwalk. Rates for a standard double room can be found for about $96 per night in mid-March, while gulfside rooms with a patio are about $116 per night. In late summer, rooms are available starting at $82 per night.

Yes, 14, and that includes pools with slides, a lazy river, and indoor and outdoor pools. There's also five onsite restaurants — meaning you may never have to leave this property. Ocean view rooms can be found in late March for as low as $124 per night. Come summer, rates increase but in the fall (September), they drop to as low as $64 per night.

The beach is just across the street. Studio accommodations, which are 400-square feet and sleep two to four guests, start at $134 per night.

South Beach Biloxi Hotel & Suites

The only hotel directly on the beach in Biloxi, South Beach Hotel & Suites is a luxury all-suite property. The hotel features condo-style, one- or two-bedroom accommodations. All rooms include a balcony providing views of the Gulf of Mexico. Amenities include a fitness center and beachside pool. Throughout August and September, it's possible to find rooms for $140 per night. From October through December, rooms are available for $129 to $149 per night.

A property that's been a favorite spot over the years for such legendary figures as Joe DiMaggio and Robert DeNiro, B Ocean Resort is on Fort Lauderdale Beach. The property includes a private swath of beach as well as two infinity edge pools. There's also four restaurants and three bars. While you're not likely to find budget-friendly rooms here during spring break, come August and September rooms are available at about $143 per night.

Decameron operates an extensive list of beachfront resorts, and for summer 2020, the brand is offering as much as 40% off some of its properties. For its properties in Colombia, that translates into prices starting as low as $69 per night in some locations, and in Ecuador prices are even lower, about $81 per night in some cases. Even in an upscale resort town like Los Cabos, the brand is advertising prices for less than $100 per night.

This stylish, handcrafted property is located on the sands of the Pacific along a beach that is said to have the best year-round beach break in all of Panama. Suites can be found starting at $112 per night in late April.

Though this property has Holiday Inn in the name, it offers a boutique property vibe and the amenities and spaciousness of a resort. Located on the island's Coligny Beach, the Holiday Inn Resort Beach House's highlights include a bar on the sand, a pool, a beach volleyball court and in the evenings, live music. Surrounding the property there are more than 60 miles of bike-friendly paths. The property offers ocean view and patio rooms. Rates start at $75 per night.

And while most Fiji vacations will set you back a small fortune, the Bula Lodge rooms here start at around $132 per night.
