200 Big Lots Locations Will Stay Open Despite Bankruptcy. Here's the Full List.

The Big Lots bankruptcy saga continues. This time, there’s good news: Approximately 200 stores will stay open despite the company filing for bankruptcy back in September 2024. Here’s what’s happened since then, plus the full list of locations that will be staying open that was just announced.

Yes, at some point in the bankruptcy process, Big Lots announced that all stores would be closing. Before that, the company had said that only 300 to 500 of the chain’s 1,300 would close. The whole thing has been kind of a roller coaster thanks to potential investors and other uncertainties that come with a huge corporation in bankruptcy.

Thankfully for fans of great deals, about 200 Big Lots stores will remain open. That’s because a deal with a company called Variety Wholesalers has gone through. That company, which operates other discount retailers like Bargain Town and Roses Discount, will operate the Big Lots locations and keep them open.
