RETIREMENT REIMAGINED

Picture the typical retirement community. The images that come to mind probably don't involve 5-star dining, your own kayak by a private lake, chauffeured trips to the opera, or doing virtually anything your heart desires. But that's what many of the country's most upscale retirement communities are offering their residents — and more. We took a look at the top retirement communities in each state, and found the ones that offer the most deluxe accommodations and amenities. Whatever your dreams for retirement may be, these hot spots offer a glimpse of how the other half retires.
