With that in mind, we scoured online booking sites and guest reviews to identify properties in each state that offered a combination of budget-friendly pricing, notable value for the price, and overwhelmingly positive reviews from past guests. Here's your 50-state guide to some of the best hotels in the country for under $100 per night.

Alabama: Malaga Inn

The Malaga Inn, located in Mobile's historic district, oozes Southern charm and receives consistently solid reviews from guests on multiple fronts. For the very budget friendly price of about $59 per night, guests get free parking, free breakfast and free high-speed internet. There's also an outdoor pool on-site, and the property is located less than a half-mile from more than two dozen restaurants and a long list of cultural attractions including the Crescent Theater, the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, and also the Mobile Carnival Museum. Malaga Inn also received a commendable score of 88 out of 100 on TripAdvisor for being a good property for those who enjoy walking to attractions. "The people are so nice, it had a wonderful breakfast. The room was very cozy and the beds were the most comfortable ever. It was in a great downtown area. Both Booking.com and TripAdvisor reviewers have overwhelmingly positive things to say about this colorful, quirky property that's about 26 miles from the iconic Mesa Verde National Park. Retro Inn also received a certificate of excellence on TripAdvisor for consistently earning positive reviews. The family-friendly property features a retro theme with nods to such legendary figures as Elvis Presley and Clint Eastwood in its decor and artwork. The grounds include lawn games such as horseshoes, lawn bowling, volleyball, and a giant chess board. There's also a public grilling area. Connecticut: Hyatt Place Mohegan Sun

Among those in the budget category that also receive notable praise from past guests is the Hyatt Place Mohegan Sun, a property near the Mohegan Sun Casino. "I loved every detail of this cool retro 'doo wop' architecture hotel from the lava lamp in my room, to the pool, hot tub, fire pit and mini golf next-door.
