This Is the Best Flea Market in Every State

Treasure hunters know that retail gold can't be found at the market — the real hauls are at their local flea market. Flea markets are rich with retro (and authentic) furniture, toys, lamps, posters, and plenty of other vintage goods. Here's a list of flea markets worth checking out in every state and D.C. 

Mobile

Mobile Flea Market, the region's premier market of its kind, boasts more than 800 sellers and is open every weekend (aside from Christmas), weather notwithstanding.

Anchorage

Billed as Alaska's largest open-air market, the downtown Anchorage Market and Festival has been going strong for 25 years. With a focus on local, the market welcomes visitors every weekend from May until Labor Day.

Tempe

An outdoor market that's open from October through early April, Thieves Market brings together 60 to 100 vendors selling everything old (minimum 25 years), from furniture and architectural salvage to toys and handmade items.

Beebe

The Junk House Flea Market displays a cornucopia of random stuff, including metal lunchboxes, fishing gear, and used books. The market is open every day of the week except for Sunday.

Pasadena

Hosting more than 2,500 sellers and attracting more than 20,000 buyers each month, the Rose Bowl Flea Market in Pasadena has been delighting crowds for more than 45 years. The flea market is open on the second Sunday of every month and is one of the best in America.

Henderson

More than 3,000 vendors spread out their new and used wares every weekend at Mile High Flea Market. The 80-acre site also features a farmers market, kids' rides, and food vendors.

New Milford

Every Sunday from April to December, treasure hunters flock to Elephant's Trunk for antiques, collectibles, crafts, and bargains galore. Hardcore buyers can purchase early-bird tickets for a whopping $20. Anyone just browsing can wait until 7 a.m. and get in for $3.

New Castle

In addition to filling their carts at an extensive farmers market, visitors to the New Castle Farmers Market can browse indoors and out in search of home goods, clothing, furniture, and off-the-wall offerings at bargain prices year-round, Thursday through Sunday.

Washington, D.C.

This year-round, outdoor flea market is, of course, dependent on good weather for a good turnout. First opened in 1972, the Georgetown Flea Market has become a local institution.

Daytona Beach

Open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, the Daytona Flea Market features more than 1,000 booths, a monthly arts and crafts show, and a monthly classic car "cruise-in" on a 30-acre complex.

Cumming

Treasure hunters seeking bargains can roam the indoor and outdoor grounds to find quirky memorabilia, antiques, collectibles, vintage goods, and more at the Lakewood 400 Antiques Market, open on the first weekend of every month (except December, when there's an Antiques and Gifts Show on the 6th, 7th, and 8th).

Honolulu

An outdoor market located at the state's largest sports venue, the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet in Oahu is loaded with bargains on all kinds of merchandise, from ethnic food to antiques. Shop all year on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Though the stadium is currently closed due to construction, the swap meet is still operating.

Garden City

Held five weekends a year (in January, February, March, October, and November), the Treasure Valley Flea Market at Expo Idaho offers bargains galore, including electronics.

Wheaton

The All-Night Flea Market, located in a suburb west of Chicago, is designed for night owls. Held at the DuPage County Fairgrounds during the third weekend of August, it runs from 3 p.m. to 3 a.m. Bring a flashlight!

Shipshewana

Open Tuesdays and Wednesdays from May through the end of September, the Shipshewana Flea Market got its start in 1922 and has since grown to become the largest in the Midwest. Come for plants, home decor, produce, and more.

What Cheer

Looking for old tools or baseball cards? Stop by What Cheer Flea Market, which spans four days, three times a year — in May, August, and October — at the Keokuk County Fairgrounds. Shoppers will find coins, baseball cards, old tools, and plenty of other collectibles.

Highland 

With 500 vendors and plenty of food, the Sparks Flea Market is a go-to destination for antique and collectible hunters in the spring and fall. 

Louisville 

The Louisville Flea Off Market is a popular outdoor destination, operating one weekend a month from late March through September. Shoppers who take the time to peruse the wares can find one-of-a-kind merchandise. 

Prairieville

The Flea Market of Louisiana is an open-air bazaar with more than 400 vendor booths. Stop by any Saturday or Sunday. 

Portland

Several dozen vendors offer antique furniture, housewares, vintage frocks, old records, artisan goods, and oddball items every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Portland Flea-for-All. The Washington Post wrote about it as a must-visit destination in 2019.

Baltimore

This indoor/outdoor market also has an international food court, which might be a good destination after you've worked up an appetite scouring the hundreds of vendors at this flea market. But take note that it's only open on weekends.

Brimfield

The last Brimfield show drew more than 20,000 dealers and 230,000 visitors, proof that this is one popular flea market. Visit the Brimfield show this year in May, July, and September.

Ann Arbor

Open Friday through Sunday, the Dixieland Flea Market Place operates year-round and holds plenty of prize finds. Score big with sports memorabilia, musical instruments, ceramics, and more.

Oronoco

People have been enjoying the Oronoco Gold Rush Antique & Market Show for decades. Nearly 300 vendors set up shop every year on the third weekend of August, a beacon for bargain hunters looking for that special something.

Canton 

With more than 1,000 artisans showing, the Canton Flea Market is one of the largest arts and crafts fairs in the South. It's held twice a year, on the second Thursday in May and October, in front of the county courthouse.

Monett

Held annually over a late summer weekend (August 24-25 in 2024), the Repurposed Faire Festival is devoted to repurposing cool vintage stuff. Highlights include live music and a car show, with an award for best muscle car.

St. Regis 

Open Memorial Day weekend from daylight to dusk, the St. Regis Flea Market is said to be Montana's largest. The event includes both flea market and food vendors. Come for breakfast and start the day well-fortified.

Fairbury

The July 4 Flea Market takes place on or around July 4 every year in Fairbury City Park. About 300 vendors pull in 10,000 shoppers and browsers over the course of the two-day event, punctuated by fireworks at dusk.

Pahrump

Open every Saturday at 7 a.m., the All American Swap Meet

 offers new and used goods, antiques, crafts, collectibles, produce, and baked goods.

Salem

This flea market is open year-round, and you can display your wares indoors or out. Vendors should keep their knock-offs at home, as the market has a strict policy against them. 

Trenton

Taking place three times a year, the Trenton Punk Rock Flea Market showcases a DIY lifestyle in a unique, family-friendly environment filled with vintage clothing and toys, artwork and curios, and gourmet food trucks. This year, look for the market in September, November, and December.

Albuquerque

There is another indoor flea market (named, yes, The Other Indoor Flea Market), which may be an ideal location to beat the heat (it's air conditioned!). Customers have said they've gotten great finds "for pennies on the dollar."

Brooklyn

Open every weekend throughout the year, Brooklyn Flea runs an outdoor market from April through November. On Saturdays, the venue is in Fort Greene; on Sundays, it transfers to Dumbo.

Raleigh

Located at the historic state fairgrounds, the Raleigh Flea Market gathers more than 600 vendors every weekend year-round and promotes a family-friendly atmosphere.

Fargo

Okay, this isn't actually a flea market, but you can find used clothing, furniture, and knick knacks here. Since the Minot Flea Market is no longer, this is the closest thing around — and all proceeds go to charity.

Springfield

Many collectors and dealers consider the monthly (except during February, July, and December) Springfield Antique Show & Flea Market a must-visit. Amateur treasure hunters are also welcome to search for that unique something.

Sulphur 

Tracing its origins to the 1940s, when folks gathered to trade canines, the Dog Trade flea market is held every Sunday from sunrise until around noon. In addition to typical flea market fare, shoppers will find livestock — and, yes, even dogs — for sale.

Eugene

Located at the Lane County Fairgrounds, the Picc-A-Dilly Flea Market showcases collectibles, crafts, and stuff you'd find at yard sales. It's open two Sundays a month but only once in June, and takes a break in July and August.

Tamaqua

As much a flea market as a farmers market, the Hometown is open every Wednesday year-round. It's situated on 15 acres and features indoor and outdoor booths stocked with goodies, from cheese and organic produce to crafts and household goods.

Johnston

Billing itself as the state's largest flea market, the 10-acre Plainfield Pike Flea Market can accommodate more than 500 vendors. It's open every Sunday from mid-April to November (with the weather's cooperation, that is).

Charleston

Ladson Flea Market attracts thousands of visitors with a vast selection of vendors offering food, antiques, appliances, and even haircuts. The market is open Saturday and Sunday.

Sioux Falls 

The first full weekend of every month brings The Black Market to life. Up to 140 vendors sell an assortment of antiques, new merchandise, and used goods in a 30,000-square-foot space at the fairgrounds.

Telford 

Open Sundays, regardless of the weather, the Jonesborough Flea Market includes about 200 vendors who sell all manner of merchandise, from folk art and collectibles to vintage clothing and car accessories.

Grand Prairie (Dallas/Fort Worth), Houston, and San Antonio 

There are three Traders Village locations: Grand Prairie (Dallas/Fort Worth), Houston, and San Antonio. Each massive flea market is open Saturdays and Sundays and offers a variety of family rides and activities, food vendors, and, of course, a slew of merchandise sellers.

Salt Lake City

On the second Sunday of the month (except for May, when it's open the first Sunday instead), visitors can browse booths at the Urban Flea Market. Hunt around for old records, vintage clothing, furniture, tools, and a variety of oddities.

Waterbury

Billed as the largest and longest-running outdoor flea market in Vermont (it passed the 40-year mark in 2015), the Waterbury Flea Market is open every weekend from May to October.

Charlottesville

A cornucopia of high-quality handmade and vintage items are sold at fleaVILLE, a market that pops up monthly at venues around Charlottesville.

Seattle

Imports, vintage treasures, antiques, art, collectibles, unique eats, and more attract crowds at the Fremont Sunday Market, open Sundays November through March.

Charleston

The advantage of this location is its closeness to Amish communities — which means low-priced Amish furniture, candles, antiques, and more. The flea market started in 1987 with 60 vendors and has grown to 150, so be prepared to shop.

Caledonia

An indoor and outdoor market with everything from fresh produce to kids' games to auto accessories and discounted brand-name cosmetics, the 7 Mile Fair sets up on 40 acres every Saturday and Sunday.

Cheyenne

Customers say this flea market has "vintage clothing, vinyl, 80's/90's nostalgia items, Western items, and lots of great ceramics and glassware," plus some mid-century artifacts worth a look.
