The 10 Best Cities for Remote Workers This Winter

Maybe you're suffering in the cold and snow this winter — but you have a remote job, so why not take advantage of it? A study by UK digital marketing company Eskimoz ranked cities by looking at winter temperature, accommodation plus cost of living index, safety, internet speed, co-working spaces, and quality of life. Here are some warm(er) places to consider this winter.

With a score of 60.15 out of 100, this Brazilian city has a strong co-working scene (149 spaces) and warm winter temperatures averaging 71.37 degrees. While it didn't rank highly for safety, you should be cautious in any big city. 

Another Brazilian city comes in ninth with a score of 60.18. February is the warmest month of winter here, and temperatures can reach an average of 78.93 degrees. It's lowest in the top 10 for safety, but it's high for accommodation plus cost of living and has a lightning fast internet speed of 196.61 Mbps.

With a score of 61.81, Hanoi shines with its low cost of living. It also has decently warm winter temperatures around 65.6 degrees, even though its not great when it comes to internet speed or the number of co-working spaces.

With 62.15, Manila comes in seventh, as if has the highest number of coworking spaces at 4,140 among all cities. It's also warm, with average winter temperatures topping 80 degrees. Hopefully you like where you're staying, since the city only has 31 co-working spaces.

This South American city comes in sixth with a score of 62.46. It has over 2,600 accommodations and an average winter temperature of 75.07 degrees. But be forewarned — there are only 71 co-working spots. 

This Indian city comes in fifth with 63.52 thanks to its low cost-of-living index. Even better, it has 214 co-working spaces — but a very slow internet speed.

With a score of 65.46, Dubai comes in fourth thanks to 3,355 co-working spaces and the highest quality of life score on the iist with 174.1. The temperatures are pretty mild with an average of 67.15 degrees and decent internet speeds. Women. especially solo travelers, may want to keep in mind the dress code in the country. 

Taipei takes third place, with an overall score of 65.48 and the fastest internet speed among all cities at 260 Mbps. The city also has a high safety index at 83.7.

With the highest number of accommodations among all cities, Kuala Lumpur comes in second, scoring 70.93. It's also warm in the winter with average temperatures of 80.55 degrees. 

Bangkok leads with a score of 73.54. This Thai city is warm (81.09 degrees) and has 164 co-working spaces, the second-highest in the study. It also has the fastest internet and the second-highest safety index after Hanoi with 60.4.
