Sliding Through Some Sliders

Sick of Beef 'n Cheddar and looking to change up your Arby’s order? The ubiquitous fast-food chain has a menu that spans from Reubens to gyros, but often overlooked are the roast beef titans’ sliders. Arby's 2-for-7 deal might be the most famous option for value, but with sliders priced mostly under two bucks, they're also a solid option.

With seven varieties, which should you grab? Are they worth the money? Arby's Bourbon BBQ series is not currently available, but keep an eye out as they're likely to bring it back. Here are the best Arby’s sliders, ranked by taste.

Best: Bourbon BBQ Chicken Slider (Seasonal Flavor)

$2.49

I didn't expect Arby's chicken sliders to pick up the win on this, but here we are. The bourbon BBQ sauce really is tasty, and paired with the pickles and the crispy onion strings, I’m on board. It’s a decent piece of chicken, too. I will say that these sandwiches are miniscule. Like, smaller than my palm. They’re all very cheap, yes, but damn, you’re better off with a Taco Bell value menu burrito for that price.

2. Jalapeño Roast Beef Slider

$1.99

This only tastes about 10% different than the classic, but the jalapeño is undeniably helpful. It’s a fast-food jalapeño, too, so it’s really not even that spicy. Even if you’re averse to spice, there’s no reason to choose the original over this one.

3. Buffalo Chicken Slider

$1.99

These things lose their crisp pretty fast, but there’s one thing I appreciate: ranch dressing. So many people are led astray when they pray to false Buffalo counterpart idols like blue cheese. Arby’s gets it.

4. Bourbon BBQ Roast Beef Slider (Seasonal Flavor)

$2.49

Arby's BBQ sliders aren't bad. This, too, is a slightly better version of the original roast beef and cheese slider, but for some reason there’s pickles on this sandwich. Arby’s roast beef isn’t really meant for pickles, I think. Stick with the bourbon chicken.

5. Roast Beef Slider

Just get the one with jalapeños — there’s not that much flavor in here to begin with. Add some where you can.

6. Chicken Slider

$1.99

Without sauce, this chicken manages to stay crispy and that’s huge. On the flip side, without sauce, there’s not much flavor at all.

7. Bourbon BBQ Country-Style Rib Slider (Seasonal Flavor)

$2.49

They went full McRib. I don’t know, gang, I’m just not sure I can get behind a fast-food boneless rib. It’s simultaneously spongy and dry, which fully freaks me out. The smokey flavor is quite pronounced though, so I commend Mr. Arby for that one.
